Last weekend, Scott and I had the pleasure of photographing Emily and Joe’s Savannah Yacht Club wedding on Wilmington Island in Savannah. We loved working with this couple. They are so bubbly and happy and so in love with each other. For the wedding day, Emily wore a lovely Justin Alexander bridal gown, lace bolero and sash and she and her fourteen bridesmaids looked stunning courtesy of JW Salon in Savannah while Joe and his fifteen groomsmen kept cool in their suite at the Bohemian. Emily and Joe wed in the Sanctuary of the Trinity United Methodist Church on Telfair Square. After a beautiful (and at times really funny) ceremony, guests headed their way to the Savannah Yacht Club for dinner and cocktails.
All of the guests at Emily and Joe’s wedding had a blast on the dance floor as well as enjoying a clear, albeit warm, evening on the water overlooking the Wilmington River. By the end of the evening, the dance floor was packed with people singing and dancing. We even had one of the bride’s friends decide to do an impromptu freestyle rap performance at the end of the reception, much to the excitement of the crowd who cheered her on up to the microphone. At the end of the evening, Emily and Joe made their way to the docks of the yacht club through a crazy shower of bubbles onto a private boat that escorted them away to downtown Savannah. Here is a quick sneak peek of their beautiful Savannah Yacht Club wedding.
