As a wedding photographer in Savannah, it is always exciting to work in new spaces that showcase the beauty that lies here in the lowcountry and this Isle of Hope wedding was perfect example of a southern wedding. The wedding reception took place in a location that was extremely special to the bride, her childhood home. The team from Posh Petals and Pearls along with the vendors listed below created an event that I am sure that Lauren and Gordon’s guests will remember for a long time.
Preparations for the bride took place in the home while her groom prepared for the wedding at the Brice in downtown Savannah. The ladies of Dollface by Jules and Rob’s on Drayton did a spectacular job of creating wedding day looks for Lauren and her girls. Lauren’s bridesmaids could barely hold back the tears as she revealed her wedding dress to them. Lauren wore a stunning Anna Maier lace gown with a matching lace bolero paired with a cathedral length veil.
Lauren and Gordon’s Isle of Hope wedding ceremony took place at the Isle of Hope Methodist Church. After the ceremony, guests were ushered via trolley to the reception space. As guests arrived to the home, they were treated to champagne and passed hors d’oeuvres served on the bride’s family crystal and china. Lauren and Gordon made their grand entrance into their reception exiting the doors of the grand home and making their way to their first dance under a magnificent draped tent overlooking the Skidaway River. Guests spent the rest of the evening dancing to the sounds of the Emerald Empire Band and snacking on fresh pralines from Savannah Candy Kitchen.
At the end of a spectacular evening, Lauren and Gordon exited their wedding reception through an aisle of sparklers onto an awaiting boat to take them on their way to their honeymoon in Napa. Thank you Lauren and Gordon for allowing us to document your amazing wedding! Here is a sneak peek of their Isle of Hope wedding.
