China and Japan

It is not often that we get to post personal photos to the blog, but we wanted to share these with you all.  This last spring, Scott and I did something that we had not done in over 5 years. We finally went on a vacation! We spent about three weeks exploring Beijing and Shanghai, climbed the Great Wall, rode the Shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto, attended the Miyako Odori, and even spent a morning learning meditation in a 424 year old Zen Buddist temple. This was definitely a trip to remember! Click on the arrow to the right of the photo below to see some of our photos from our trip.

For photographers who are interested, all images were created with an Olympus OM-D EM1 and either the 17mm f/1.8 or 75mm f/1.8.

  • Wow some of these shots are AMAZING. That one of the child in the black and white to the right is incredible.

  • These photos are enchanting. I found myself pausing at looking at each in detail. Really beautifully captured images!

  • Love the black and white photo of the girl and the pathway of the green trees. Great compositions.
