Padget and Nicky had an amazing weekend with their friends and family during their Spring Island wedding and we were lucky enough to have the chance to capture it. We met with Padget and Nicky in the spring while they were in town planning as our couple calls London and Hamburg their homes. During their engagement session, we had the opportunity to explore a bit of the island and let them share with us some of their favorite locations.
Preparations for the wedding took place in the locker rooms of the River House before making their way to the ceremony site nearby. Padget was escorted by her father to the ceremony location via a stunning horse and carriage decorated with flowers. The ceremony took place in the garden area under the state of St Francis near the island’s ruins. The towering live oaks trees provided the needed shade for this warm summer wedding. After the ceremony, guests joined our couple up the dirt path towards the ruins for a champagne toasts as well as to watch Padget and Nicky take part in a souther tradition of digging up a bottle of bourbon that had been buried before the wedding. It is said that this tradition will provide good luck and good weather for the couple on their wedding day.
After the cocktails and a few photos, our couple joined their guests at the Summer House for a tented wedding reception overlooking the marsh. Guests enjoyed a wonderful dinner and some epics toasts before heading inside to the house for the dance party. DJ Henry from JLK Events played back to back with a DJ from Germany and the crowd danced all night long. Here is a sneak peek of Padget and Nicky’s Spring Island wedding.
